Say Yes to the Dress for Photo Sessions

I love it when maternity clients say yes to the dress ( Maternity Gowns) for photo sessions. 

Have you thought about rocking a romantic gown or tulle skirt ……but just never had an occasion for it? This is your chance to do it up! Remember: There is no such thing as “too dressed up” when it comes to your maternity session.  So don’t be afraid to have some fun! If you don’t want to go out and buy something new, a lot of clients use my Studio Wardrobe for their session.  It is a great way to feel like a million bucks. Plus, it’s affordable because is it is complimentary with every maternity session booked with me.  Other clients love having a great excuse to go out and buy something for the special occasion to add to their closet! There is no right or wrong here!

Dresses and skirts look most stunning because they flatter every female body, especially on camera — which is probably why the red carpet is always full of so many dresses and not very many pantsuits! I recommend avoiding pants and shorts for your session and saying yes to a dress instead.

Long, full-length, form-fitting or flowy dresses look amazing on camera because they bring extra movement to the photos. Consider softer fabrics like chiffon or tulle which allow for beautiful movement in the images.  

For expecting moms, I always recommend floor-length gowns or maxi dresses. These dresses create the best silhouettes to flatter your figure and really highlight your bump. And that’s the whole point right….we want to show off that beautiful bump!   If you plan on having our little one in the maternity images it is more than likely you will be sitting or crouching down to interact with them, so this length will make moving around with kids much easier and look perfect on camera, too.
