Preparing for Newborn Session

Preparing for Newborn Photo Session

A bit of planning and preparing for your newborn session will help us get the best images. The adorable sleepy poses you see on my site are easiest to achieve when a few suggestions are followed by parents. Here are a few tips that will help make your session much more successful!

  •  Keep baby awake (if possible) with a warm sponge bath and putting lotion on to help with dry skin or just a little-extended play time in the morning before your session will help.
  • Dress baby in something that doesn’t have to be lifted over their head. So when they arrive at the studio I will be able to undress easily and not disturb their sleep while getting them undressed.
  • Leaving the diaper somewhat loose is such a big help. It is less distracting for baby when the diaper is pulled off. Plus it helps to eliminate the diaper marks on babies skin.
  • Bring a pacifier! Even if you don’t plan on using one. It will help baby settle while I am moving them around from pose to pose.
  • Feed baby right before you leave the house to come to the studio. A sleepy baby + a full baby = amazing images!

Are you interested in newborn photography? I’d love to capture your sweet baby.

I pride myself in getting to know each one of my clients before their session. I’d like to invite you to my studio for a pre-consultation before your baby comes. It will give us an opportunity to get to know each other and see the safe environment your baby will be photographed in. We will discuss pricing, packages, what to wear, what to bring, and how the entire process works. Contact me and I will send you a few dates I have available! I can’t wait to hear from you!
