Bonnieville Salt Flats West Wendover Utah
I LOVE taking client to the Bonnieville Salt Flats, just East of Wendover Utah.
In fact you can see a few session I have photographed there.
The flats can easily be seen as you drive I-80 near the Utah-Nevada border.
Anytime a client mentions they might even want to go to the Salt Flats I almost beg them to go there!
I will admit it is one of my most favorite places to shoot.
Even though it it looks so destitute
….there is just something about it that draws me in.
…. Every
….. Single
….. Time
The Bonneville Salt Flats is one of the most unique natural features in Utah.
It’s vast 30,000 acres of dazzling white, salty earth is absolutely beautiful.
It is the home of the famous Bonneville Speedway.
Racing and breaking land speed records has been going on there since 1896!
For the last several decades it’s been attracting not only speed addicts, but filmmakers, photographers and curious travelers.
The landscape can change from season to season.
Most of the time it has a crusty white surface and then there are times that it mimics an ocean!
I took some clients out their one week and it was covered in a beautiful blue layer of water.
Then 7 days later is was almost dried up!
The fierce wind can dry up the water really quickly.
On my last visit I had the privilege of photographing a few race cars.
While the track was still too wet to drive on, they wanted their picture taken in front of the Bonnieville Salt Flat sign!
I’d love to photograph your session out on the Salt Flats!
