How do I book a session?

It’s so easy! Simply fill out the contact form found at the top of the page & I’ll get back to you within 1-2 business days. (office hours are M-F 9-5)

We will set a date to meet for a no-obligation consult. It’s always important to me that parents meet the person handling their precious baby before the session! It will give us an opportunity to get to know each other and see the safe environment your baby will be photographed in. We will discuss pricing, packages, what to bring, and how the entire process works. All products offered will be available for you to feel, touch and see.

I encourage parents to reserve your newborn session before your baby is born. Booking early ensures you a spot on my calendar. Once your session is reserved, we’ll pencil your due date on our calendar. When the baby arrives, we’ll schedule your session on a weekday morning. Because newborn sessions are so dear to me, I do try our best to fit in last minute requests, so don’t hesitate to contact me anytime.

What is the best age for newborns to be photographed?

I have found it is best to photograph newborns between 5-14 days new. During this time newborns are still very sleepy and curly. But that doesn’t mean we can’t get great images when they are older!  Check out this blog post for more information.

When is the best time to book a session?

It is never too early to contact me regarding your newborn & maternity session!  I find that the 2nd trimester is the best time to assure your spot on the calendar. Having your session scheduled and confirmed well ahead of delivery, will relieve some of the stress those first few days after baby arrives. If your due date is quickly approaching, or baby has just arrived, please do not hesitate to call or shoot me an email to check availability.

After I book my session then what?

Once baby arrives it is very important you contact me within the first 48 hours to share the happy news and we will schedule and confirm your session within those first 5-14 days.

How long will my newborn photography session take?

Generally, newborn sessions will last about two hours, maybe a little longer. I always follow the baby’s lead and provide a relaxed and calm atmosphere with plenty of time for feeding and snuggling. We all know who is in charge…now!

What should I do to prepare for my session?

We go over all the steps at the consultation! PLUS, I will send you a preparation guide with some tips on how to prepare for your session.  These tips will certainly help tip the scales in our favor for a sleepy baby.

Do all the sessions take place at the Studio or do you photograph on location too?

All newborn sessions are held at my studio along with winter maternity sessions!  Beautiful summer provides the perfect backdrop for on-location maternity sessions which are scheduled for May-October. Outdoor sessions take place during the evening hours, which is known as the “Golden Hour” and provides rich tones, dreamy light, and magical moments.

Do we need to bring props or accessories to the session?

No. I believe that babies are beautiful just the way they are born.  I do provide soft simple wraps and bonnets, headbands and  high-end knitted goods which are made specifically for newborn photography. All my props are made from natural materials and are soft and non-irritating to baby’s skin.

What types of products do you offer?

Our most popular products are Gallery Wrapped Canvases, Portfolio Boxes, Heirloom Albums, Heirloom Keepsake Boxes, along with Matted Prints, Birth Announcements, and the best-selling Brag Books (a favorite for grandparents!). Of course, I love for families to have their digital image files as well, which are available on their own or a part of one of my collections.

Do you offer digital files?

Yes, I know how important digital files are to families! I love for families to have their digital image files as well. Every print you purchase you receive the coordinating social media file.

However, a session with me is not just to share for a day on Facebook or social media, but a way to preserve the tiny details…forever. It is my goal to create an experience for you to look back on and heirloom products for you to feel,  touch, hold in your hands or hang on your walls. Products you will be able to pass down for generations.

I will guide you through the ordering process and provide my expertise on sizes, finishes, custom framing, and album design. I will be there from the first hello until I deliver your product.

However, I understand digitals are the most important to some people. So purchasing the digital files is definitely an option. Clients that take this route is made aware that the print quality is NOT guaranteed on digital files.

My computer monitor is calibrated to my professional lab, and I only guarantee your prints purchased through me 100%.

Do you offer payment plans?

Absolutely! I want you to have everything your heart desires and will work with your budget to arrange a convenient payment plan. I also offer a Baby Registry so gift givers can purchase print/products for you as well.

When will my ordering session take place?

We will schedule that at your newborn session. It usually takes 7-14 days to get your images to come back for the ordering appointment. It's important all decision makers are available for that date.

When will I receive my prints?

My turn around time on regular prints is usually 1-2 weeks. Canvases  will take at least 3 weeks.  Albums will take 2-4 weeks.

Can I scan and print my images?

NO. Kandi Anderson Photography retains the copyright to all images. It is illegal to scan, copy or reproduce my images in any manner without written permission.
