What is the best age for newborns to be photographed?
I have found it is best to photograph newborns between 5-14 days new. During this time newborns are still very sleepy and curly. But that doesn’t mean we can’t get great images when they are older!  Check out this blog post for more information.

When is the best time to book a session?                                                                                                                                                                              It is never too early to contact me regarding your newborn & maternity session!  I find that the 2nd trimester is the best time to assure your spot on the calendar. Having your session scheduled and confirmed well ahead of delivery, will relieve some of the stress those first few days after baby arrives. If your due date is quickly approaching, or baby has just arrived, please do not hesitate to call or shoot me an email to check availability.

After I book my session then what?                                                                                                                                                                                         Once baby arrives it is very important you contact me within the first 48 hours to share the happy news and we will schedule and confirm your session within those first 5-14 days.

How long will my newborn photography session take?
Generally, newborn sessions will last about two hours, maybe a little longer. I always follow baby’s lead and provide a relaxed and calm atmosphere with plenty of time for feeding and snuggling. We all know who is in charge…now 🙂

What should I do to prepare for my session?                                                                                                                                                            I will send each client a preparation guide with some tips on how to prepare for your session.  These tips will certainly help tip the scales in our favor for a sleepy baby.

How do I book a session?
It’s so easy!  Simply fill out the contact form found at the top of the page & I’ll get back to you within 1-2 business days. I encourage parents to reserve your newborn session before your baby is born. Booking early ensures you a spot on my calendar. Once your session is reserved, we’ll pencil your due date on our calendar. When baby arrives, we’ll schedule your session on a weekday morning. Because newborn sessions are so dear to me, I do try our best to fit in last minute requests, so don’t hesitate to contact me anytime.

Do all the sessions take place at the Studio or do you photograph on location too?                                                                                       All newborn sessions are held at my studio along with winter maternity sessions!  Beautiful summer provides the perfect backdrop for on-location maternity sessions which are scheduled for May-October. Outdoor sessions take place during the evening hours, which is known as the “Golden Hour” and provides rich tones, dreamy light, and magical moments.

Do we need to bring props or accessories to the session?
No. I believe that babies are beautiful just the way they are born.  I do provide soft simple wraps and bonnets, headbands and  high-end knitted goods which are made specifically for newborn photography. All my props are made from natural materials and are soft and non-irritating to baby’s skin.

What types of products do you offer?
Our most popular products are Gallery Wrapped Canvases, Portfolio Boxes,  Heirloom Keepsake Boxes, along with Matte Prints, Birth Announcements, and the best-selling Brag Books (a favorite for grandparents!). Of course, I love for families to have their digital image files as well, which are available on their own or a part of one of my collections.

Do you offer payment plans?
Absolutely! I want you to have everything your heart desires and will work with your budget to arrange a convenient payment plan. I also offer a Baby Registry so gift givers can purchase print/products for you as well.

When will my session gallery be posted?
Your online password protected gallery will be posted 1~2 weeks after the session. I will call or email you with your password and login information when it is available.

How long will my gallery be available?
Your gallery will be available online for 4  days (four) allowing you to select the art print images that come with your package OR your A La Carte selection. You also have the opportunity to upgrade your package, select any enlargements or specialty products you might want to order. However, if you order in the first 24 hours they are posted you will receive a 10% discount. After a months time, your images will be archived.

What if I want to order prints after my gallery is offline?
If you would like to order prints after your gallery has expired, please email or call me so I can reinstate your gallery on the website. Minimum order of $100.00 is required.

When will I receive my prints?
My turn around time on regular prints is usually 1-2 weeks. Canvases  will take at least 3 weeks.  Albums will take 2-4 weeks.
